                 THE MAN IN THE DARK

It is a summer day in New York and it's so hot now,  people are exshausted by the temperature.
Paul is in his office at Saint Nicols Street Manhatan New York. His agent called in order inform him  about the Pulitzer Awards, he is invited to attend to the ceremony on July 10.
The time passed and most of  the writers all over  USA came to the ceremony at Hall of Memorial Writers in N. Y. City tonight.
Paul and his agent got to the Hall of Memorial Writers at 7:30 p.m. and a lot of people were outside of the place, Paul is excited. It's the first time he is attending to this writers Awards.
Now inside, the ceremony started and many writers resived their awards and honours, there were many writers celebrating their awards, but there is one more, the one that paul is nominate, the most important award of the night.
The expective is higher inside, every writer wants  to win this prize, it mean fame, to be known, to appear in the first pages of all newspapers in USA and an amount of money.
People can feel the tension in the room, there are only three writers for the final, the announcer is talking about writers and their stories, Marc Maclemore nominated to this category two times and his story WOLF OF THE ARCTIC, it is a short story about  people and artic animals life and how they are alive in the arctic. JOE Caldrich, nominated three times and his story the NORTHERN RIVERS, this story tell us why the prosperity of the northern.  The tension is growing up in the audience, just one more would be named.
Paul is calmed and relaxed, to be there with famous writers, important people of the city, it's wonderfull and exciting to share with those people.
The announcer took a little time in order to put more emotions to the expectancy,....... and now the third writer, Paul Wilson first time nominated in the Pulitzers Awards and his short story THE MAN IN THE DARK... It's a story about the author and his friend JULIOS JONES, people stand up to see Paul, no many people know him, he raised his right hand for a moment and people applaused him for 10 or 12 second.
Paul and his agent couldn't believe it, it is impossible he said, I never thought that I would be one of the finalist.
Now, he remembered the whole story, he remember this day.......Julios and his girl friend were happy, many important people, TVchannels, The New York time newspaper, Daily News Magazine, and others were invited, everythings was ready, the New York Palace, the place selected by Julios's agent was beautiful and nice.

Around 8:30 just Julios, Kathy Julios girl friend, his agent, Paul and some relative were in the place. Some tv channel Were there and gone.
Julios was out of mind, he didn't put attention to the SUPER BALL, the final American Football game. Mollions of people watch this game on television, important trademark wait this day to introduce their new products. Later he canceled the publication and went back home.
Julios never got out of his house for a long time, he remained in the house for five years, his girl friend and Paul did everything for him outside during that time, one day he disappeared, nobody know where he's gone.........
And now the winner is PAUL WILSON and THE MAN IN THE DARK,... it was crazy there , a rookie writer won the prize people said, but the people got more surprised when they sow a man in a wheelchair going to the podium. He couldn't believe it, tears rolling down by his face  couldn't stop, people were applauding for 2 minutes.....
Then the audience calmed down and he started to talk.  Thanks god, thanks everybody here, and I'm sure he is watching us from the Dark.  He raised his right hand with the trophy, I dedicate this prize to my friend JULIOS. I love you my friend..... The next two weeks TV programs, Newspapers, Magazines  invited him for interviews. 
Some week later, he went back to his neighborhood to celebrate with his family and friends. He remembered when he and his father were riding horse and he fell off from the horse and broke his spine. He couldn't walk anymore, but he never gave up. People just need to be alive to achieve their dreams.
